( 7 клас)

Навчальна ситуація : Illnesses and Help. Measuring  the blood pressure.

Мета :  введення, опрацювання та активізація нової лексики, розвиток навичок діалогічного мовлення, опанування навичками практичного застосування тонометра засобами англійської мови, виховання бережного ставлення до свого здоров’я.

Oбладнання : тонометр, картки з інструкцією про правила користування ним,

                       тематичні картинки

Хід уроку.

І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення.Повідомлення теми і мети уроку.

T.     Dear children, today we continue to study our topic about health. I think that the problem of health is topical. People say:” Health is better than wealth”. It means that we cannot buy  health for money so we have to take care of it. What other proverbs about health do you know?

P1. An apple a day keeps the doctor far away.

P2. Eat  with pleasure drink with measure.

P3. A sound mind in a sound body.

P4.Time is a great healer.

P5. Early to bed, early to rise, makes you healthy, wealthy and wise

P6. Wash your hands before you eat,

      Keep yourself both clean and neat

P7. Exercises can make you strong.

      It can be fun and won’t take long.

P8. Brush your teeth and did you hear? See your dentist every year.

II. Основна частина уроку.

1.     T. When do we start thinking about our health? Look at these phrases and complete the sentence :

       “We usually think about health when we  :    are ill, feel ill, feel unwell, fall ill,

                                                                               get ill , turn ill, catch a cold

2.     T. Now answer my questions :

·        Where do you go when you are ill?

·        P1. We usually visit a doctor.

·        What doctors work at the hospital?

·        P1…3 ( учні по черзі називають лікарів, які працюють в лікарні -  a paediatrician, an anaesthetist, an emergency medical technician, an ophthalmologist, a surgeon, a psychiatrist, an X- ray technician)

·        Have you ever been seriously ill?

·        Do you often catch a cold?

·        Do you always call a doctor when you are ill?

·        When did you last make an appointment?

·        What do you usually do to prevent illnesses?

·        Do you usually follow the doctor’s advice?

·        Do you usually recover quickly?

·        What are the symptoms of  a sick person ? ( a person usually  has a temperature, vomit, sneezing, hard breathing, hard to swallow, pale cheeks, a running nose etc. )

3.Контроль домашнього завдання.

T. For today you prepared the dialogues on the topic ‘A Visit to the Doctor’

(учні драматизують діалоги)

 

Dialogue 1.

A.   What’s the matter with you?

B.   Oh, I have a splitting  headache and a sore throat

A.   Your face is red and you have a running nose. Evidently you have a cold.

Here’s a thermometer to take your temperature. Oh, it’s thirty-eight point three. You’ll have to stay away from school.

B.   Oh, that’s  fine! We have a test-paper in maths tomorrow.

A.   Oh, don’t talk nonsense.  Just get into bed,  I’ll prescribe you some medicine.

B.   Thank you, doctor. Good-bye.

       

Dialogue 2.

   

     K. Good morning, doctor.

     D. Good morning Kate. What do you complain of?

     K. I feel bad. I have a headache.

     D. Well, here’s a thermometer to take your temperature . I see you don’t look

           well.

    K. Besides, I have a cold in the head and my throat is sore.

    D. What is your temperature?

    K. Thirty -seven and five.

    D. Open your mouth and show me your throat. Oh, yes, it’s red.

    K. What’s the matter with me, doctor?

   D. You have  a bad cold. I’ll prescribe you some medicine.

   K. How do I take the medicine?

   D. Three times a day.

   K. Thank you, doctor. Good –bye.

3.     Вимірювання тиску.

T. When you visit the doctor he or she usually measures your blood pressure to    prevent insults and heart attacks. Many people have special device for measuring their blood pressure. Today I’ll teach you how to use this device called blood pressure monitor.

    У кожного на  парті лежать картки  з інсткукцією

Measuring the blood pressure 1.     Sit down and relax for some time. 2.     Place the cuff over the left arm. 3.     Tighten the cuff. 4.     Lay your arm on the table. 5.     Press the start button. 6.     Take the pumping bulb with your free hand and inflate it. 7.     Lay down the pumping bulb. 8.     The measurement  now proceeds. 9.     Your blood pressure is on the display now.

4. Прослухай і знайди пару.

T.     Listen to the description of different symptoms and match them to deseases from the box:

* temperature is high, the body is covered with rash which itches very much,

     general malaise

·        high temperature, running nose, headache, sometimes coughing and sneezing

·        the neck is swollen and becomes painful, high temperature

·        hard to breath, coughing, the temperature is not high but not normal, noise in the bronchi and lungs, pain in the chest ,fever

·        a sharp pain in a stomach, especially in its right sight, temperature, fever, 

    being sick, vomiting

 III. Заключна частина уроку

1.     Home task . Make up a story  “ A Visit to the Doctor” in a written form.

2.     Evaluation
