Theme:    THE BEST RECEPE. SETTING A TABLE.

Motto :    EAT WELL! STAY HEALTHY!

Aim  :      to develop the pupils’ pair and individual communicative skills in topical
                conversation and dialogues , to revise the vocabulary on the
                topic “Food”, to voluntary memory and
                imagination ,to show the knowledge and skills in work with the computer 
                projects and with technical equipment, to give the examples of recipes.

Equipment :  pictures, fruit, some kitchen equipment, paper napkins, CD-s



Lesson procedure

    I. Warming - up

1Greeting : 
           Teacher :Good morning dear children! I am glad to see you. How are you?  That’s good! We are ready to start our lesson, aren’t we?  Our today’s lesson is unusual because we’ll  speak about your favourite food one of the most important part of our life. Food gives us energy and health and sets us into a cheerful working mood. So the aim of our lesson is to develop your skills in speaking, to practice the vocabulary on the topic Meals, to develop your creativity and imagination. Let’s start our lesson with phonetic drills.


2       Phonetic drills :

                                         Vegetables and fruit
                                         For children are very good .
                                         Eat vegetables and fruit
                                         And they do you very good.
                                         Those who eat much fruit
                                         Are in a very good mood.
                                         They are in a very good mood
                                         Those who eat much fruit!

3.                       Учитель трудового навчання:  Добрий день, шановні діти і гості. Я рада вітати вас на нашому незвичайному уроці. Незвичайному, тому що це бінарний урок англійської мови та трудового навчання, на якому ви поглибите свої знання про значення корисних продуктів для харчування людини, навчимося  красиво оздоблювати стіл до свят для виховання ваших естетичних смаків.
II.                The main part of the lesson.
              1.   Teacher :  For today’s lesson you prepared your projects about your
                     favourite food. But now I  want you to answer my
                     questions :

1)    What is your favourite food? Is it healthy or unhealthy?
2)    What food do you prefer : home -  made or ready – made one?
3)    Do you like cooking?
4)    Do you keep to a healthy diet?
5)    What are four main food groups to build your daily menu of?
6)    What six things does our body need to grow and to be healthy?
7)    Do you know how many calories you eat during the day?

2.                P. 1     My favourite dish is “scones”. My Granny taught me to bake them. I know that fresh scones are unhealthy food but they are so tasty and they melt quickly in my mouth (показ фільму)

                         P. 2      My favourite dish is ”Pizza”. I don’t cook it very often but
               only on the days when my close friends come to see me (показ презентації)






























                       











 P. 3.      My favourite dish is “sandwiches”. Today I want to show  you how to prepare them. But very few people know that a very rich man invented a sandwich. He liked playing cards very much. He could play cards day and night. When he was hungry he didn’t want to stop the game. He took a piece of meat and put it between two slices of  bread. In this way it was easier for him to eat and to play at the same time.  The name of this man was Sandwich. Since 1762 rich people in restaurants started eating sandwiches too. Today almost every office in Great
                                     
 Britain has a sandwich for lunch.( учень показує, як готувати бутерброди)

 







P.          4.  As for me I want to show you how I can cook my favourite “fruit salad” . It’s  very tasty and healthy and contains a  lot of vitamins, minerals  and fibre necessary for our growing  body(учень показує приготування салату )

             















3.Teacher :   Children! You like holidays and parties and very often you invite your guests to your place. Very often you treat them with some tasty things. So you have to know how to lay the  table. And now P.4.   will show us how to lay the table.

                             


 P.4.               SETTING A TABLE
                                 
1.     Put the plate in the centre of the placemat.
2.     Fold the napkin.
3.     Put the napkin to the left of the plate.
4.     Place the knife to the right of the plate.
5.     Put the spoon to the right of the knife.
6.     Put the fork on the left – hand side of the plate, on top of the napkin.
7.     Set the glass near the tip of the knife.

Учитель трудового навчання перевіряє домашнє завдання. Учні демонструють свої улюблені страви, виконані в малюнках. Потім вчитель проводить майстер клас по оздобленню святкового столу(вставити слайди)

















4. Teacher :   Well, now I want you to make the
                       dialogues “At the restaurant”














Dialogue 1     Waiter.  Hello! What will you order? Here’s the menu.
                       Ann. Thank you. I’ll have a look. Mary, what would you like?
                        Mary. My supper is usually a very simple meal, so I’d like some roast
                        chicken, salad and coffee.
                       Waiter. I can offer you sliced cucumbers with sour cream.
                        Mary. Very good.
                        Ann. I prefer tomato salad. And I will have roast beef and chips. And 
                        coffee of course.
                        Waiter. Black or white?
                         Ann.  Black, please.
                         Waiter. Just a moment, ladies!

Dialogue 2     Della. A cup of coffee, please.
                       Dave. Tea for me please.
                       Waitress. One tea and one coffee.
                       Dave. Why do you always drink coffee?
                       Della. Not always. Sometimes I drink tea. Do you always drink tea?
                       Dave. Sometimes I drink coffee. But I prefer tea.

3.                Teacher : Now let’s play a little! Guess what it is :
                      - food especially one from a chicken
                      - a fruit with a hard yellow skin and sour juice
                      - a thick red sauce made from tomatoes
                      - a drink that is made of fruit and vegetables
                      - how do we call the room where we prepare and cook food?
                      - a tool that is used for grating food
                      - a machine that washes dishes
                      - two pieces of bread with cheese, meat, vegetables between them
